My story of forgiveness revolves around laying down of my pride. I had a relationship with a sibling that had gone past the point of petty fights to physicality and serious emotional trauma. it took me years just to being myself to learn to be able to be around my sibling , so forgiveness seemed like a long way away. when I finally got close enough to forgive, there was another fight, another harsh word, another cutting blow.

I was to arrogant to see that my forgiveness wasn’t something that would radically change the situation in an instant like I wanted it too. forgiveness is a JOURNEY. I had to walk along side my brother and still do. forgiveness doesn’t mean that the other individual won’t make mistakes again. forgiveness means that I am capable of seeing someone as Christ does, despite the detriment to my own self.
